Happy 5 years

Five years have passed, that is half a decade.

In lieu of our five year mark, we did what the movies do and we dressed up, heels and slacks, and the whole nine yards. He took me to a fancy restaurant where we exchanged gifts, gave kisses, and touched based on the past five years.

We both had responsibilities in the morning so we had to cut the night short and make way for the normality of the coming day. He slept over though and we planned the continuance of our five years for the weekend of.

Nonetheless, it has been five years, and I dearly love this guy of mine.

Sundays with my lady

Today my lady friend and I adventured off to a nice place on this side of California.

I wanted to take her to Philz Coffee because she is my coffee mate and she is just good company.

At first, I was confused, more angry, on why a city would put two of the same coffee shops in one area, just down the street from one another. But then I thought about my area, and all the Starbucks and Sujus we have. I digress.

We ended up at the more modern Philz Coffee where we ordered coffee anyway, which we should not have. I got the both of us what was suppose to be a Mint Mojito Iced Coffee, but really tasted like run down cigarette water. We drank it anyway, because we are coffee people.

Half way through the cup, I was disappointed with her Philz Coffee experience, so obviously I demanded that we go to the hip Philz Coffee that had shady otudoor seating and REAL mint mojitos. So she agreed.

We shared a large the second time around, and lounged.

She then took me to IKEA where she discovered that it was my first time there. God, it was amazing. Since I treated her to coffee, she treated me to macaroni and cheese, and she helped herself to fifteen meatballs. Fifteen meatballs. Fifteen.

We ended the night getting our book fix at the only bookstore in town.

She is such a fun lady. Fine lady. Super fine.

Time To Kill

I took my partner shopping.

We have been shopping a lot lately, we do not know what to do with our money since we never really have time to go out together on adventures.

Great Mall is my favorite, Valley Fair is his, so he went to work, we took him to Valley Fair for a shopping spree.

I find it ridiculous that clothing for men is so much more expensive than clothing for women. Not to mention the variety that women have. I could buy a good quality coat for $20, and the cheapest my partner could find one for is $120. Who cares, we buy them anyway.

After shopping, I picked up my gradmum from the airport. I think she should just stay in San Diego. She has been there about three times this year, and this year is not even over yet. It would just be convenient for her.

Anyway, yay to new stuff.

Happy Birthday Noyce

I like the three hour gap I have in between class and work. It gives me some alone time away from homework, people, and the outside world in general. I usually like to take power naps, or catch up on my favorite series, but today I went out and about to buy gifts for little Noyce, who is not so little anymore.

I find it amazing to watch someone you have known for so long grow into such a lady. I have watched Noyce grow throughout the years and she has blossomed. She is going to make a fine woman.

I bought her a couple of gifts for when she moves into her new Hansel and Gretel house. I love buying presents. Not to receive something in return, not for the pride, or for the feeling of surprising someone. There is just some kind of satisfaction knowing that someone else knows that I was thinking about him/her. That someone took the time and effort to make a special day a little more special.

Presents are just great. Noyce is great. Happy birthday.

Blind side

Today I went to the optometrist. My eyesight got worse. It always gets worse. So there I was, sitting in the chairy chair, trying to figure out what factors contribute to my poor vision.

Perhaps I am just getting old. On the plus side, new glasses.

3 Adventures, 1 Day

I love the start of new mods at university, it means no homework for the first week. I have been partying like a rockstar!

Today, mis amigos and I went on a day trip to three places.

Location #1: Sausalito, CA.
We visited Muir Woods to admire the Redwood Trees that were starred in Planet of the Apes. Besides the swerved roads and the amount of pain pushing my nasal because of the change in pressure, the Redwoods were beautiful and the two mile hike around the forest was peaceful. You are not allowed to take the leaves from the forest, walk on the forest ground, or touch the plants that are not in the man made path in hopes of preserving the natural state of the forest. My favorite thing about Muir Woods was the location. It is on top of the hills, away from the city, and the walk was so shady and relaxing, I was practically sleep walking. I also liked the little hidden areas in between branches, in tree barks, and in random holes in the dirt. The whole time, we were conversing on where we would hide/survive if we were in the Hunger Games.

Location #2: San Francisco, CA.
According to my previous post, this is my second time in San Francisco this week, which is a lot considering the fact that I have been planning on taking a day trip there, but instead I took two unplanned ones. My friends and I went to Pier 39 for some good old fashion tourist sights. We ate, a lot, and we shopped. I bought $25 worth of fresh, organic cherries, apples, figs, and plapples. Yes, plapples. A plapple is a hybrid mix of pears and apples. Looks like an apple, tastes like an apple, but has the soft, seedy texture, and slight sour aftertaste, of a pear. It is so delicious. I also purchased $10 worth of gourmet chocolate (that I ended up giving to my litter sister), and I finally got my churro fix that I anticipated for throughout the whole trip.

Location #3: Palo Alto, CA.
We ended the trip in between Palo Alto and Mountain View where I had Phil's Coffee for the first time. My friend said, 'This coffee will blow your mind,' and indeed it did. It blew my mind so hard, that I am going back for more next weekend despite the distance. I had the Mint Mojito Iced Coffee, and let me tell as to why I loved it to life. I am a lover of coffee, but I like my coffee a certain way. Either the way I make it in the morning, black with sugar. Or, iced, and more on the watery side than creamy side. For example, I hate mochas. Thick, chocolatey goodness, is not goodness at all to me. McDonals Hazelnut Iced Coffee on the other hand, pure perfection. I digress. The Mint Mojito at Phil's was the perfect balance of creamy, watery, and minty. Here is the punch: Phil's coffee uses actual mint leaves and none of that mint syrup extract crap. When you drink the coffee, you get little bits of mint leaves in your mouth that you nibble on and it leaves your breath fresh and clean, unlike drinking regular, thick coffee where your breath is left passing people out from the smell. It was so delicious, I highly recommend it. It was a nice way to end the day.

I thought the coffee saved my life because I went home knowing I had a test to study for. So I studied, I memorized everything, only to find out that the test is not until Wednesday. Well, at least that means I get to relax until then.

GREAT DAY. GREAT PEOPLE. JUST ....GREAT.

Rien

I did absolutely nothing today!

Just kidding. It probably feels that way because I spent the whole morning/afternoon lounging around my house.

I made an appointment with my optometrist, and I scored an appointment on the same day. The style of my glasses are really outdated and I kind of miss wearing contact lenses. After the optometrist, I took my sister out to eat.

I spent the rest of my afternoon lounging around my house again until my partner got out of work. We ate our usual pho place and talked about how many years we have been going to that place.

The last activity for the night was going to the house of mi amigo to watch movies and eat junk. We watched Mr. Nobody, which was surprisingly good, and we ate homemade cookies, pesto pizza, and pasta.

I then went home and fell asleep with my lover at my side.
